A Confluence of Healthcare Disruptions & Innovations takes Centre stage at IIHMR University’s HealthNext 2021

IIHMR University, Jaipur, organized a two-day virtual conference on January 11-12, 2021. Healthnext 2021: A Global Health & Innovation Conference (GHIC). The conference addressed transformation in healthcare from the point of view of technological innovations and enhancement, opportunities that have been created during the time of crisis in the healthcare sector. GHIC was unique in facilitating serious conversations among leaders about our healthcare system and innovation. The conference focused on five thrust areas such as Healthcare Innovations: A Practitioner's Perspective, Driving Innovation in New Healthcare Landscape – Post-COVID, IoT in the Health Ecosystem, Building a Sustainable Model for Healthcare and Creating a Personalized Healthcare Experience for every Patient and Health beyond hospitals. Two days of massive deliberations touched upon aspects of Access, Affordability & Availability. Participation of 1000+ delegates, pitching of 25+ new ideas from 8+countries and 40+cities by 30+ distinguished speakers was a remarkable achievement.

The inaugural session of the GHIC was graced by Shri Naveen Jain, Ex-MD NHM & Former Secretary Skills & Entrepreneurship, Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Govt. of Rajasthan, Dr. S.D. Gupta, Chairman, IIHMR University, Dr. P. R. Sodani, President, IIHMR University and Dr. Sheenu Jain, Chair, CIIE, & Convener GHIC Conference, IIHMR University.

Shri Naveen Jain, on his inaugural address said, “The subject of the conclave is very exciting as it focused on encouraging the young generation to initiate start-ups in Public Health to offer solutions along with promoting innovations in this area. We value the efforts of institutions like IIHMR University to provide such platforms for the budding entrepreneurs of our country."

Dr. S D Gupta said, "COVID-19 has created an urgency to mitigate risks and has brought in many challenges in a new light. I think a platform such as the GHIC will prove to be beneficial for the whole healthcare industry to identify and offer solutions."

Dr. P.R Sodani said, "GHIC is our signature conference that was initiated with a motto of addressing the need to deal with public health care challenges differently after the pandemic. This was also a platform that offered budding entrepreneurs to showcase their business propositions to overcome challenges and fill in the gaps in the health sector."
