Professional Development Courses in Management, Public Health and Health Sector Reforms for Government of Rajasthan

PDCs are supported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. For such courses, the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Rajasthan, nominates district level, Medical Officers. The course aims to improve the managerial competence of district and block-level medical officers in public health, management, and health sector reforms.

The Government of Rajasthan nominates medical officers such as Deputy CMHO, Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers working at District Hospitals, SDH, CHC, and PHC. The 10-week course comprises eight weeks of classroom training at IIHMR University, Jaipur, and two weeks of outdoor training in the form of exposure visits to other States within the country. The knowledge gained from these exposure visits enhances the quality and knowledge of the officers. The PDC courses have been beneficial for doctors working at the district-level in program planning and implementation.
