Happiness @ Workplace

March 25-26, 2019

The Centre for Mindfulness, Wellness and Ethics (CMWE) successfully conducted its first MDP on “Happiness @ Workplace” during March 25-26, 2019. The event focused on building joyful working environment and relationships, for participants from across India and abroad, with the help of activities, meditation sessions, yoga nidra sessions, and group discussions.

The sessions were conducted by Dr. Pankaj Gupta, President, IIHMR University, Mr. Sandip Dash, Faculty Member, Management Training Institute SAIL and Centre of Happiness Centre of SAIL, and Mr. Sandeep Sandhar, Advisor, CMWE on topics ranging from laughter therapy, science of happiness, workplace stress, to trusting your colleagues, team work, the art of developing happiness habits, and relationship management at the workplace.

The two-day event was filled with fun and games with props such as balloons, blindfolds, crayons, and more. Speaking about the event, Dr. Pankaj Gupta said, “The first MDP session for CMWE has been successfully conducted and we are looking forward for more such programs through the year. This is just the beginning, and a job well begun is half done! I congratulate the entire team on their efforts and thank the participants for their overwhelming response. This MDP has paved the way for all future MDPs at the CMWE.”

  • A conference for Vice Chancellors will be planned in Hyderabad
  • Youth Seminar will be planned.

Meditation Techniques for Stress Reduction

January 2-5, 2019

A session on Meditation Techniques for Stress Reduction by Mr. Sandeep Singh Sandhar was organized for the Faculty and Staff from January 2-5, 2019 from 3 PM – 4 PM on all days. A separate session for the students was also conducted during this period:

"Mind Management" session for first year Students

January 16, 2019:

A session on Mind Management was conducted at the IIHMR University for the first-year students on January 16, 2019. The intention of the session was to make the students aware about their own mind, its tendencies, emotions and offer tips to be stress free. Collaboration between IIHMR, Jaipur and Aditya Birla group

January 25, 2019:

Collaboration between IIHMR, Jaipur and Aditya Birla group for studies in order to design sustainable insurance product i.e. IIHMR to become knowledge partner.
Discussion Outcomes:

  • Mr. Gaurav from Aditya Birla Group shared that they want to collaborate as Institute-Corporate Partnership for Cross- Functional study of evidence-based costing for Insurance Industry
  • Mr. Gaurav and MMI Representative showed interest in following areas:
    • Evidence based costing of health care with pharmaceutical consideration.
    • Mindfulness- Heartfulness workshop and /or retreats.
    • Clinical Effectiveness Policy.
    • Rural Health Insurance integration with relevant premium products on real studies.
    • Development of Cohort study group according to the requirements of Industry. Industry pioneers may come to deliver lectures.
    • Future trend Study.
    • 7. Cost based pricing in hospitals can be studied.

Nature Appreciation – Photography Workshop by Ms. Medha Jain

January 25, 2019:

A Photography appreciation workshop was be conducted for the students of IIHMR University by Ms.Medha Jain, an experienced professional in the Human Resources space, currently leading People and Organization Development at Syngenta for South Asia. Her experience in HR spans various industries like Financial Services, Technology, Manufacturing, Chemicals including HR Consulting having worked with some of the best companies – DuPont, Microsoft, American Express, Hewitt, Ma Foi in various positions. Her areas of expertise include Talent Management, Learning and Development, Change Management, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Campus branding etc. In 2017, she was also awarded the Most Influential HR Leaders in India by World HRD Congress in its 25TH SILVER JUBILEE YEAR.

Knowledge Session by shri Rishi Vidhyadhar Ji

January 29, 2019:

A session on “Health and Happiness” by SHRI RISHI VIDHYADHAR JI was conducted at the University on January 29, 2019 from at 3.00 to 4.00 PM at IIHMR University. With more than 20 years of experience in meditation, Rishi Ji has travelled over 50 countries spreading joy and happiness through his profound knowledge and serene presence. He has deep knowledge of Human Anatomy, Ayurveda, Mind Management, Health and Happiness. With his scientific outlook and intuitive depth people find it very easy to relate with the ideology. His journey from being a successful businessman to a yogi who is an embodiment of peace inspires millions across the globe. The session was attended by few faculty, staff and students.

Wellness Health Camp

December 6, 2018

The IIHMR University organized a Health Camp for all the employees and their family members on December 6, 2018. Bhandari Hospital, Jaipur had been the hospital of choice, which conducted campus check-ups from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm. Majority of faculty and staff availed the benefits of the camp.

India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi

Dr. Pankaj Gupta, President, IIHMR University was invited as a Keynote Speaker in the India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards, organized by the India Health & Wellness Summit and Awards Forum, held at Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi on December 7, 2018. He was also a panel discussant on the topic of Health Communications: How the Right Messaging Can Make the Right Impact. The moderator of the session was Dr. Bobby John, Managing Director at Equitas Consulting Pvt. Ltd.

Art of Living and Happiness Program

December 11-15, 2018

An Art of Living and Happiness Program was conducted at the IIHMR University during December 11-15, 2018 for the faculty and staff. Objectives of the program:

  • To imbibe the skills and competencies required to achieve goals directed by values.
  • To have a positive attitude and the ability to cope with the changing environments.
  • To maintain and enhance faculty effectiveness by inculcating dynamism and leadership qualities.
  • To develop commitment and ethical approach towards work and instill a sense of responsibility towards the institution.
  • To enhance communication and soft skills of the faculty by introducing innovative teaching methodologies and developing an interpersonal connection with students.

Business World Wellbeing Summit

December 20-21, 2018

The first Business World Wellbeing Summit "Leading from Wisdom - Back to Source” was organized from December 20 to 21, 2018, at The Imperial in New Delhi. The Summit covered topics ranging from physical to emotional, and mental to spiritual wellbeing of a person. This included the logic, the science behind it as well as the direct experience of it all. Deliberating on the need for wisdom-based leadership, a panel of eminent personalities came together and discussed the importance of discerning and insightful leaders who can be instrumental in creating logical, content, and purpose driven individuals.

Self-Awareness and Mindfulness for Managers’ (SAM)

November 22 & 23, 2018

Session by Mr. Sandeep Singh: In the month of September 2018, the President has conducted Elective Course on Self-Awareness and Mindfulness for Managers’ (SAM) to the MBA 2nd year students. A special Session by Mr. Sandeep Sandhar was also conducted during that time. More students have shown their interest in participating such programs. Hence, Mr. Sandeep Sandhar was again invited and he took sessions on November 22 & 23, 2018 at IIHMRU. All the students, who participated in the sessions shared that they were greatly benefitted with the program and felt that by attending the program, they could improve their motivation level and could do better in the placement interviews. Most of the students who attended the program who got selected in the campus placements, specially came to thank the President.

Recruitment and Work-life Preparation

November 24 & 25, 2018

A workshop by the Advait Life-Education Foundation, Ghaziabad has been conducted for the second-year students to prepare them to face placement process like communication, analytical tests, group discussions, interview etc. Many students have reported that these trainings have helped them in getting jobs from campus.

Training Workshop on Health Management Research Ethics for Protection of Human Participants

September 27-29,2018

A 3-day Capacity Development Workshop on Health Management Research Ethics for Protection of Human Participants organized by IIHMR University with the support of ICMR, New Delhi from Sept 27 to Sept 29. The workshop was aimed at recognizing various concepts of ethical issues in health research, apprising the existing and revised guidelines for ethics in health research; and identifying and using the ethical principles for decision making. The program was delivered by well-known experts who have been instrumental in developing or revising ethics guidelines at ICMR, and international organizations. The inaugural session of the workshop was held on Sept 27, 2018 at 10 AM at the MDP Centre, IIHMR University. Dr. VM Katoch, NASI-ICMR Chair at RU, Dr. SD Gupta, IIHMR University Chairman, Dr. Pankaj Gupta, President, IIHMR University, Dr. VasanthaMuthuswamy, President, Forum for Ethics Review Committees in India and Dr. Roli Mathur, Scientist at the National Centre for Diseases Informatics and Research were addressed the participants.
