Objective : To compare the socio-demographic profiles of tuberculosis patients in Barwani District, Madhya Pradesh. Specific Objective: 1. To evaluate the trend analysis of TB patients from the year 2014 to the 2018 year 2. To analyze the tb treatment outcome for proper monitoring of patients and also the effectiveness of the RNTCP programme year 2014- 2017

Background : India rank 2nd in the world after Africa having maximum tuberculosis patients, with 2.3 million new cases every of tuberculosis and Madhya Pradesh ranks 3rd with 1, 31,828 after Maharashtra. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by a Bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It spreads through the air by a person suffering from TB. One positive patient infects 10 to 15 people in a year.”

Methodology : The study type is analytical; the sample size is 1682 patients in 2016 and 853 patients in 2017 enrolled in e – nikshay portal of Barwani district.

Findings : The finding reveals that the trend of tuberculosis patients decreases from 2014 to the 2017 year, most affected block is Rajpur, most common Tb is Pulmonary, most affected age group from 21 to 30 years, mostly males are more affected than females, category I patients are more compared to category II, less than 50 % of patients completed their treatment in 2016 and 66 5 completed in 2017, in treatment type more new patients were there and quality of data is very poor in 2017 when compared with 2016 data.

Recommendations : There is a gradual decrease in tuberculosis patient from the year 2014 to 2017, so for elimination by 2025, we will focus more on vulnerable population and more active case finding and more and more awareness camp of tuberculosis.
