Objective : The principal target of this study is to assess the socio-economic linkages and the level of reproductive rights in beneficiaries of JSY, and to assess the linkages of service utilization with these factors.

Background : The aim of this study is to determine the impact of various socio-economic factors affecting decision making the power of women affecting service utilization in JSY. Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a sheltered parenthood intercession under the National Health Mission.

Methodology : • Literacy Status vs Decision Making: - From the findings, it could be seen that major stakeholder was husband in illiterate respondents which accounted for 55%, whereas mother in law was found to be the major decision maker in below 10th contributing 50% of decision making. However equal contribution by husband and self could be seen to decision making in graduate respondents accounting to 33% each. • Occupation vs Decision making: - From the findings, it could be seen that major stakeholder was a husband for decision making in housewives accounting for 40% of decision making, whereas independent decision-making increases in respondents working in private and government sector accounting 64% for former and 100% for later. • Type of Family vs Decision Making: - From the findings, it could be seen that respondents are more able to take free decisions in nuclear family accounting 33% of the total decision making, whereas independent decision making of the respondents is only 22% in a joint family. • Education status vs Institutional delivery: - It could be seen that as the educational qualification increases, home deliveries vanishes and service utilization increases. In illiterate respondents, 13% of the home deliveries could be seen whereas home deliveries vanish to zero as the education status of the respondent's upgrades to graduate.

Recommendations : This project clearly demonstrates that there is a lot of scope of improvement in government set up, and service utilization can be increased by promoting girl child education, increase awareness about system, promotion of spacing and limiting methods aggressively and addressing the stakeholders by involving them in decision making related to health policies of the area. These can show major improvement in the usage of govt schemes available and can decrease MMR, and IMR a lot.
